The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets defeated the Centerburg Trojans 57–36 in a non-league boys basketball game on Wednesday.
The game took place on November 26 at Centerburg High School in Centerburg, Ohio. According to reports, Mt. Vernon jumped out to an early lead, establishing a 16-4 advantage by the end of the first quarter. The Yellowjackets maintained control throughout, building up a 37-20 lead by the end of the third quarter. Their defense held strong throughout the game, limiting Centerburg to just 36 points.
Mt. Vernon is scheduled to host the Highland Fighting Scots on December 3.
In their last meeting on December 1, 2023, Mt. Vernon routed Centerburg 58–32 in a non-league matchup.
