The Centerburg Trojans delivered a commanding all-around performance to defeat the Westerville South Wildcats 11–1 in a non-conference game.
The matchup, played at Centerburg’s home field, saw the Trojans take control early and maintain their lead throughout the contest.
The team scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second, and four more in the third to build an 11–0 advantage before Westerville South managed its only run in the fifth inning.
Junior Sydnee Schoonover led Centerburg’s offense with a 2-for-3 performance that included two home runs and two RBI. Senior Abby Herren went 2-for-2 with a homer, three runs scored, a walk, and two stolen bases. Sophomore Jazmyn Larimore added a solo home run as part of her perfect day at the plate. Freshman Grace O’Quinn contributed with a hit, an RBI, and a stolen base. Kallie Webb, Briley Cline, and Morgan Beaver each added key hits as part of Centerburg’s nine-hit attack. The Trojans drew seven walks for a .593 team on-base percentage. On the mound, Beaver pitched three shutout innings with five strikeouts and no walks; Cline closed out the final two frames with two strikeouts. Defensively, Centerburg committed no errors and turned a double play, while Westerville South had one error and five hits—two each from Alexis Evans and Nora Bellomy—according to MaxPreps..
