Centerburg left no doubt on its home floor Thursday night, storming past Mount Gilead in a statement sweep, 25-10, 25-10, 25-6.
The Trojans were firing on all cylinders from the opening serve. Senior leader Sedona Weisbrod turned in one of her strongest all-around performances of the season, delivering nine kills, 10 aces and 11 digs to overwhelm the Indians on both ends.
Jazmyn Larimore added 11 kills and three aces, continuing her steady offensive production. Zoe Evans chipped in seven kills at the net, while libero Molly Kain provided 10 digs and two aces to anchor the defense.
Head coach Abigail Boudinot praised the effort and energy of her squad. “The team had a great conference win at home—nothing better than that!” Boudinot said.
With the win, Centerburg improved to 5-1 overall, notching its third straight league victory. The Trojans’ combination of aggressive serving and relentless defense has helped establish them as one of the early frontrunners in conference play.
Centerburg now turns its attention to another critical matchup, hosting rival Danville on Thursday, Sept. 4, in what could be one of the season’s most pivotal showdowns.
